Saraji at a glance
The Saraji coal mine is a part of BMA, the 50:50 joint venture between BHP and Mitsubishi Development.The Saraji mine is an open pit coal mine located near Dysart in Queensland's Bowen Basin on the traditional lands of the Barada Barna people. It is one of Australia's largest mines, by recoverable coal reserves. Saraji mines the Moranbah Coal Measures, blending from up to 11 coal seams.
