Why Operations Services?

Job security

BHP’s Operations Services has a different model to the rest of BHP. We offer permanent roles within BHP, but with a focus on our people, how we connect and achieving high performance.

Operations Service is a part of BHP that provides Production and Maintenance services. The jobs we offer are permanent BHP roles with full-time benefits including flexible working arrangements and full leave entitlements, including:

  • Annual leave
  • Personal Leave, and
  • Parental Leave

You have the option to also split up to 18 weeks paid parental leave benefits between parents if both work for OS. Employees will become eligible for parental leave benefits after three months of continuous employment with OS.

With smaller teams, some of the latest technology and constant communication with supervisors in the field, our team is safer, more productive and are building a really enjoyable place to work together.

Certainty with flexibility

We offer a range of flexible work options, such as job-share and the flexibility to move across sites. We’re committed to working with you to find the move that will work best for you.

As OS offers permanent positions with full-time benefits, flexible work options such as job share are available to support your needs and preferences.

One of the great benefits of working at OS is the ability to move across sites. We’ll work with you to ensure a change in location suits you and are open to flexible work options.

Some of the options available could include, but are not limited to: night-shift only, day-shift only, part time, job share, staggered shifts, casual, 2on/1off or 1on/2off shifts.

Empowered teamwork

Our performance culture empowers our team to come forward with ideas. Every individual brings unique skills, experience and perspectives to our workplace. We’re looking for people from a broad range of backgrounds who can bring their passion and enthusiasm to implementing new ideas.

By reducing team sizes, we want to foster performance, safety and growth for our team. People working for OS get more contact with their supervisors and more communication with each other. This approach is making our team safer, more productive and makes the job site a really enjoyable place to work.

Your ideas, suggestions, and passion for team-work and performance will be welcomed. We want to work together to deliver great business outcomes and help you achieve your personal goals.

The Mastery program

More than ever, we’re striving to connect our team. It’s more than watching a video or a pre-start, its knowing the people in your team. It’s also speaking up to capture the best ideas from the front line and building a workplace where everyone is listened to. We’re implementing smaller teams with more time in the field for supervisors and superintendents to build better lines of communication making work safer, smarter and more productive.

We want to give our people the opportunity to be able to develop so they can be the best they can be with our Mastery Program. Our people have personalised development plans to take their career to places they never thought possible.
