Sylvite Four-Six Regional Development Partnership
Supported by BHP, the Sylvite Four-Six Regional Development Partnership (S4-6), was established to support rapid growth in the region surrounding the Jansen potash site in Saskatchewan.
The group takes its name from sylvite, the mineral form of potash, and Treaty 4 and 6 territories in Saskatchewan, which are home to the regional communities surrounding BHP's operations near the Jansen potash site and its headquarters in Saskatoon.
S4-6 includes regional representatives including First Nations, urban and rural municipalities, and the Mid Sask Municipal Alliance (MSMA) with support from BHP.
Contract opportunities
Across both of Jansen's approved stages, we expect that more than $1 billion will be generated for local and Indigenous-owned businesses. The majority of our estimated total project spend will be in Canadian dollars - bringing tangible benefit to local communities.
