BHP Billiton has analysed the proposed super tax and its communications reflect a considered assessment of the impact of the tax on investment in the Australian resources industry.

BHP Billiton continues to urge the Government to engage in genuine consultation in relation to the tax, expressing concern that there was no consultation on the proposed tax prior to its release on 2 May and the range of subsequent consultation has been subject to restrictive terms of reference.
