Over 20k raised for Upper Hunter families

The Annual Women in Leadership charity fundraiser has raised over $20,000 for Upper Hunter families at the recent panel discussion event in Newcastle.

Gabriela Love, Principal Asset Improvement, represented Mt Arthur Coal on the evening and participated in the panel discussion alongside Jess Farchione, NXFM Radio Host, and Lauren Eyles, President Business Hunter.

Gabriela said the annual event brings women and organisations together to talk about inclusion and diversity initiatives, while raising money for families via Prelude Australia, a not-for-profit organisation that provides opportunities and support for Upper Hunter families through the provision of early childhood therapy support and playgroups.

“It was a great opportunity to talk with other women about how BHP is making work more inclusive – while also supporting a local charity with roots in Muswellbrook,” said Gabriela.

“BHP’s flex work policy enables everyone to balance work and home, and not have to forgo opportunities on either front.”

“It’s also pleasing to see that more men are utilising our paid parental leave policy too, with males making up 50 per cent of those on leave at the moment.”

This is the second year BHP has supported this event and is proud to continue the partnership, supporting #Creatingopportunities in the region.
