Over 180 team members from Mt Arthur Coal gathered at the historic Balmoral Homestead in Muswellbrook recently to celebrate women’s contributions to the NSW site and mark International Women’s Day for 2023.
Leaders within the business including Caroline Cox, Chief Legal and External Affairs Officer, Zoe Leaton, Specialist Planner and Cat Simmons, Specialist Contract Mining, joined for a panel discussion on this year’s theme #EmbraceEquity.
Chloe Dalton, Olympian, Podcastor and AFL Women’s Player also joined the panel to talk all things equity and what we need to do more of as a society to involve women.
Grant Clouten, General Manager Mt Arthur Coal, said the event was a success with over 100 frontline team members supported to attend.
“In approaching today’s event, we really wanted to ensure that we did so in the spirit of this year’s theme – ‘Embracing Equity’,” Grant said.
“Our teams have deployed flexible working arrangements, swapped shifts and rearranged rosters to enable hundreds of our frontline team to attend today. I am so proud of the Leadership team and support staff who have worked together to pull this off.”
Inclusion and diversity at Mt Arthur Coal is a key focus for the operation in FY23, with a particular focus on gender balance.
Currently Mt Arthur Coal has 23% female representation with the goal of gender balance by 2025 well on track.
