BHP Billiton today announced its three nominees to the Board of the PNG Sustainable Development Program Company were Ross Garnaut (chair); Jim Carlton and Tricia Caswell. (Curriculum vitaes are below.)

The Program Company Directors will act entirely independently of BHP Billiton under the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Program Company, both in regard to disbursements of the dividends flowing from the Program Company's 52 per cent equity in Ok Tedi Mining Limited (OTML) and management of the Company's interests in OTML.

The director nominees of the three Papua New Guinea organisations to the Program Company are expected shortly.
