There is a very human element to closing the mine in 2030…it’s very important to make sure that the people here are set up for success, so when they do have to leave Mt Arthur, they’ve got a positive future.

Under our Workforce Transition Support policy, we’re supporting people to retrain with a nationally recognised training program. We’re also providing our workforce with financial advice and career coaching to prepare for 2030 and beyond.

Yes! As part of the Workforce Transition Support policy, employees can upgrade their skills or training with any course or education program that is a Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) program, and BHP will cover the costs of the course.
