Resettlement efforts continue to advance in Bento Rodrigues and Paracatu. While housing solutions have reached 84% of case completion, public buildings and other community facilities have been delivered or are under fair progress. 7 public buildings are complete in Bento Rodrigues – Sewage and water treatment stations, school, health and service centers and two squares, in addition to 9 in Paracatu – Sewage and water treatment stations, a cemetery, two schools, health and service centers, and two squares. Communities have started to appropriate the space – and the buildings – to rebuild their livelihoods through many events and celebrations.
Ones of great importance to the communities are the churches and other religious temples. Renova has completed in March 24 the works on the São bento church and is at advanced stage in building the Mercês church, both in Bento. In addition to the catholic buildings, The Assembleia de Deus was delivered in November 2023. In Paracatu, three catholic buildings have been delivered, and the Santo Antônio church has advanced works, and will soon be available to the community.
Over R$ 4.7 billion has been spent on the resettlement program, part of the total R$ 35 billion Renova has disbursed in repair and compensation actions since its establishment in 2016.
