BHP is pleased to announce another annual contribution towards the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service (STARS) in Saskatchewan, Canada. With more than half of the population in this area not living in urban centres and often working in remote regions of the country or travelling on highways, STARS provides a mobile Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for direct transport to the nearest medical centre. STARS provides helicopter ambulance services in Western Canada.
These funds are provided by BHP’s Community Development Program for its Potash business as a health and wellness initiative. By working to increase the accessibility to emergency services, we feel that this support helps to improve the quality of life for the residents of Saskatchewan while we continue developing our Jansen Potash Project. With this contribution, BHP has now provided over C$4 million to this vital service since 2013.
