From reducing injury risk in our operations to reviving the Ckunsa language in Chile, the winners of BHP’s 2025 Health, Safety, Environment and Community (HSEC) Awards exemplify the values that have guided us for 140 years.
Now in their 22nd year, the HSEC Awards represent our highest honour, recognising the innovative and impactful work our people do to make BHP – and the communities we’re a part of - safer, more sustainable and more inclusive.
The winners were announced at a ceremony in Melbourne, Australia on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, where guests celebrated the achievements of teams and individuals from across our operations.
BHP Chief Executive Officer Mike Henry highlighted the importance of people’s ideas and values in driving progress.
"Every day, we have the opportunity to have a positive impact on performance, those around us, and the world - doing what’s right, seeking better ways and making a difference. In their own way, each finalist has lived these values,” Mr Henry said.
“At the heart of this is the celebration of ideas generated from those closest to the work. Every project we feature tonight started with a small spark of inspiration and the belief there was a better way of doing things. Congratulations to all our finalists.”
Since their inception, the HSEC Awards have attracted more than 2,000 nominations recognising the efforts of more than 580 finalists.
This year, there were nearly 400 nominations, with 30 finalists selected across six core categories. All our finalists were also eligible for the People’s Choice Award, as voted by our global team-members.
