BMA strengthens commitment to CQ Rescue

BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) has announced a renewed five-year naming rights partnership with CQ Rescue as the organisation celebrates 30 years of delivering life-saving emergency services.

The renewed partnership extends BMA's long-standing support of CQ Rescue, which spans three decades and reflects a shared commitment to supporting regional communities through world-class emergency aeromedical and rescue services.

Since commencing operations in 1996, BMA CQ Rescue has become an integral part of the region's emergency response network, providing critical care, aeromedical retrieval and search and rescue services across remote communities, mine sites, rural properties, islands and offshore environments.

BMA Asset President, Adam Lancey said extending the naming rights partnership reinforced BMA’s long-standing commitment to supporting regional communities in the state.

“BMA has proudly supported BMA CQ Rescue from the very beginning, helping build a service that has become a lifeline for communities across Central and North Queensland.

“We're proud to be extending our naming rights partnership for a further five years and continue a legacy which has touched countless lives across the region in its 30 years of operation.

“This renewal reflects our enduring commitment to the communities where our people live and work, and to ensuring this vital service is there when it's needed most for generations to come.”

BMA CQ Rescue CEO, Tim Healee said BMA’s five-year commitment provides certainty for the service.

“Thirty years ago, this service started because a group of people believed regional communities deserved access to the same life-saving care as anywhere else. BMA has been part of that story from the beginning, and that makes this five-year commitment particularly meaningful to us.

“For our crew, it means certainty. It means knowing we can continue investing in the aircraft, people and capability needed to be there when someone in our community is having the worst day of their life.

“We’re incredibly humbled and proud of the support over 30 years, and a genuine thank you to the entire team at BMA for supporting us.”

The announcement was made at the BMA CQ Rescue Gala, the organisation's premier annual fundraising event, held at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre (MECC) on Saturday evening.

The BMA CQ Rescue Gala brings together industry leaders, community representatives, emergency service personnel, supporters and stakeholders to celebrate the organisation's achievements and raise funds to support its ongoing operations.

Building on a long history of support, BMA became official naming rights partner of CQ Rescue in 2024. The renewed five-year agreement further strengthens the partnership and demonstrates a shared commitment to safety, community wellbeing, and regional resilience.
