Building what’s next is what BHP does best.

It began with seven pioneers, a silver lode in the outback, and a belief that something better could be built. They weren’t miners. They were problem solvers. That spirit carried us from Broken Hill to steelmaking, shipbuilding and far beyond. For 140 years, we’ve been building a future together, adapting to what the world has needed. Always steady. Always forward.

Building stronger communities together

Strong communities don’t happen by chance. They’re built by people and supported by partnerships that last. Not with promises, 𠊋ut with presence. We work alongside trusted organisations to help strengthen the regions that support us, from essential care
to local services that keep communities strong.

People on Football field

Building stronger pathways for women and girls in football since 2020.

Since 2020, BHP has proudly partnered with the AFLW to grow women’s and girl’s participation in sport and its leadership. By helping fund programs that provide mentoring, education and career development, together we are promoting inclusion for women in sport, creating lasting opportunities and inspiring the next generation.

Last year, more than 3,000 women and girls took part in AFLW initiatives funded by BHP - strengthening pathways for those shaping the future of the game.

Resources that make the future possible.

As the world changes, so does what we deliver. We focus on the resources that matter most now and for the years ahead. Copper to keep the world connected, iron ore and coal to make the steel that builds it and potash,
in the future, to help feed it.

Building what's next

Working together with communities

In August 2025, BHP marked 140 years of operation. More than a milestone, it was a moment to reflect on how our role has evolved and how the relationships we’ve built with communities continue to shape our work. By listening, learning, and working together, we aim to support the strength that already exists in communities and help sustain it for the future we are building together.
