General expressions of interest (EOI) are being sought for Construction Services by Olympic Dam as BHP lays a foundation for growth at the operation.
Existing and new contractors are encouraged to register via the Industry Capability Network (ICN) Gateway online. To register, all you need is an ABN and web access.
The registration involves a number of questions collecting a suite of information aimed at opening the market for contractors in South Australia.
Olympic Dam Asset President Jacqui McGill said the new EOI was part of Olympic Dam’s renewed focus on effective contractor relationship.
“There is a real opportunity to be more transparent, and to engage earlier, with contractors so that they can potentially make better decisions for their business and participate in the long-term growth story for Olympic Dam.
“We are looking for safety focused, cost-competitive contractors to participate in our growth in South Australia. And for high-performing and innovative companies this can also lead to opportunities to work with BHP on a global stage”.
The Projects are varied and include both surface and mine operations. Small, medium and large enterprises all have the opportunity to take part. Local contractors in Roxby Downs and the Upper Spencer Gulf are strongly urged to register their interest.
“We are actively looking for opportunities to build relationships with contractors who have the right capabilities and resources to deliver a range of projects that we have in the pipeline,” Ms McGill said.
It is hoped that by using the ICN Gateway the process for contractors to express interest will be simplified and more transparent. It also has the support of the State Government.
BHP’s Western Australian Iron Ore has also successfully used the portal to engage service providers.
General expressions of interest for Construction Services for BHP Olympic Dam projects will open on Monday 3 July and close on Sunday 16 July, visit www.bhpodconstruction.icn.org.au to register.
