BHP Billiton has appointed Adrian Wood to the role of Head of Investor Relations, effective 18 February 2015.
Mr Wood replaces Brendan Harris who was previously announced as Chief Financial Officer Elect of BHP Billiton’s proposed demerged global metals and mining company, South32.
Mr Wood joins BHP Billiton from Macquarie Securities where he held the role of Division Director, with lead coverage for the mining and energy sector, for the last three years.
Before becoming Division Director, he was a Senior Equity Research Analyst with Macquarie Securities and held senior roles with UBS Investment Bank in London including Director – European Oil and Gas Equity Research and Associate Director – European Equities Trading.
Announcing his appointment, BHP Billiton CFO Peter Beaven said: “Adrian has built a successful career in equities research both in Australia and abroad and is considered a leader in his field across the mining and metals and energy industries.
“He brings global experience and expertise to the Investor Relations function particularly in commodities, oil and gas production and exploration and we welcome him to the BHP Billiton team.”
Mr Wood, 41, will report to Mr Beaven and relocate from Sydney to Melbourne.
