Celebrating the deadly champions making a difference

5-12 July was NAIDOC Week, and celebrations were held around the country as Australia recognised the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year’s theme, ’50 Years of Deadly’ marks a significant milestone – celebrating five decades of NAIDOC Week and the powerful, national movement it has created.

This year’s theme pays tribute to the generations of Elders, leaders, artists and communities who have shaped NAIDOC, while recognising the continued leadership of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples today, and the important role they play in shaping the future.

NAIDOC Week is both a celebration and a moment to reflect. It encourages us to deepen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories, and to consider how we can all contribute to building respect and inclusion in our workplaces and communities.
