Congratulations on 20 years Matt!

Earlier this year, Maintenance Electrician Technician, Matt, celebrated his 20 years of service at Mt Arthur Coal (MAC).

In his time at MAC, Matt has been a Field Breakdown HV Electrician across various crews including a stint in the Trucks and Infrastructure Department. He also worked on five different electric shovels until the last one was recently parked up.

Matt said a career highlight was learning the operations from older tradesmen, honing his diagnostic skills and then being able to pass that knowledge onto other work colleagues and new apprentices, “it’s an evolution that I’m extremely proud of,” he said.

Matt hopes to continue in mining post MAC’s 2030 closure, and outside of work he likes to keep fit and active and spend time with his family.
