They’re a new nickel sulphide explorer recently listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) that’s looking to explore and develop new frontiers in nickel.
As participants in the Xplor program, Nordic Nickel have an exciting opportunity to partner with a global leader in nickel exploration, BHP, motivating Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Todd Ross, who believes wholeheartedly that from little things, big things grow.
“Our goal is to develop a deep and long-term partnership with BHP and the other participants in the program which will assist us to rapidly advance our exploration strategy and nickel exploration opportunities,” says Ross.
“By the end of the program, we hope to have made a major discovery!”
Nordic Nickel has offices in Canada and north Finland, with their flagship project, Pulju, located on the Hotinvaara Prospect, a highly prospective nickel sulphide tenements in the Central Lapland Greenstone Belt (CLGB) of Finland. They’ve already drilled 51 holes at Pulju to find near-surface nickel and six weeks after listing, had released 133.6 Mt of mineral resources, including 278,520t of nickel and 12,560t of cobalt, by re-logging and re-assaying historical drilling.
Their sights are set on dual exploration targets of near-surface disseminated nickel sulphides with widespread, thick (>100m) intersected veins and deeper high-grade massive sulphide lenses. The project also has a high nickel tenor.
That means they’re well-positioned to make significant discoveries in the years ahead.
“I honestly think ore exploration is like treasure hunting,” says Nordic Nickel’s Director and Head of Exploration, Juho Haverinen. “It’s every little kid’s dream job.”
Their participation in Xplor is just one aspect of their innovative and strategic approach to nickel sulphide exploration. As one of only seven participants in BHP’s Xplor Program, they’re looking forward to receiving valuable insights, access to expertise and technical mentoring to advance their exploration strategy.
