Growing Mo’s from Chile, to Canada and across Australia!

Last month, 388 BHP Mo’s participated in Movember across 78 teams to raise funds and awareness for men’s health. Our global BHP community raised over an incredible $330,000 – and to bolster our team’s efforts, BHP matches every dollar raised 2:1 through our Matched Giving Program.

These funds will go towards vital research and initiatives to support mental health, suicide prevention, and prostate and testicular cancer to help men live healthier, happier, and longer lives.

From growing moustaches, making a Move, or coming up with their own creative challenges and events, our teams have been exceptional at rallying behind this important cause and starting conversations that can make a real difference to someone's life.

Congratulations to our top performing teams:

  • Team Jansen (over $79,000)
  • Olympic Dam (over $57,000)
  • NPI & MSD BMA (over $27,000)
  • BMA Blackwater Mine (over $19,000)
  • BHP Brisbane & Coal (over $12,000)

A special mention to our highest individual fundraiser for the second year in a row, Darrell Newsome in Adelaide who raised over $11,000 this Movember and ran 547km – the distance from BHP’s Olympic Dam site to BHP’s Adelaide office!

Not far behind was Maury Simoneau (Saskatoon) and Andrew Karas (Caval Ridge) who each raised over $8,000!

These funds will allow Movember to continue to support ground-breaking medical research, cancer tests and treatments and important mental health interventions specifically targeted towards men’s health.
