Last month, more than 700 BHP team members participated in Movember to raise funds and awareness for men’s health. Our global BHP community raised an incredible $455,444! And to bolster our team’s efforts, BHP matches every dollar raised 2:1 through our Matched Giving Program.
These funds will go towards vital research and initiatives to support mental health, suicide prevention, and prostate and testicular cancer to help men live healthier, happier and longer lives.
From growing moustaches, making a Move, or coming up with their own creative challenges and events, our teams have enthusiastically rallied behind this important cause.
Congratulations to our top performing teams; BHP Olympic Dam Emergency Services who raised an amazing $28,000, and Goonyella – BMA, Caval Ridge – BMA, Team Jansen, Olympic Dam, Doing it for Sammy, BHP WAIO Engineering and Projects Olympic Dam who each raised more than $18,500. A special mention to our three highest individual fundraisers – Darrell Newsome (Olympic Dam Projects), Ryan Sharp (Olympic Dam) and Craig Butterworth (Perth) who each raised more than $14,000.
These funds will allow Movember to continue to support ground-breaking medical research, cancer tests and treatments and important mental health interventions specifically targeted towards men’s health. Click here for further information on the work Movember funds.
BHP is proud to support the 2021 campaign for the sixth year running.
