What would make someone pack up their young family and move more than 2150kms across Australia?
How about a permanent job with BHP and an opportunity to make your place and be a leader of change with Operations Services.
This opportunity is what inspired Rebecca Morrissey, Operations Services Production Supervisor at Mt Arthur Coal to make the move from George Fisher Mine, 30kms out of Mt Isa, to Muswellbrook in the Hunter Valley.
Not new to mining, Rebecca was enjoying working underground in western Queensland when she decided a permanent role with Operations Services was an opportunity of a lifetime.
“My interest was sparked when I heard about Operations Services. I was really attracted to being involved in something ground breaking for the business and industry as a whole,” Rebecca said.
When told about the strong focus on people capability and culture through upskilling and improving safety and productivity; Rebecca knew Operations Services was a team she wanted to be a part of.
Rebecca said that both the BHP Charter Values and the critical behaviours of Operations Services – Authenticity, Connectedness, Mastery and Performance – really spoke to her.
“It really resonated with me; it aligned with what I believe in as a leader and what I’m personally trying to achieve in my career,” she said.
“As well as embarking on an exciting time in my career, I’m equally ecstatic to relocate to one of the most amazing places to live in an area where my family can really thrive.”
