BHP and Department of Defence partnership

BHP and Department of Defence Partnership

BHP has renewed our strategic partnership between BHP Australia and the Australian Department of Defence with the Australian Army as the lead agency. Beginning as a pilot in December 2019, the purpose of the partnership is to advance Australia’s national interest, collaborate and increase the value of each organisation's human capability.

Through our partnership, we’ve found common ground. We work together on this common ground, bonded, informed and guided by our shared values that can make a difference to people’s lives, benefit both organisations and ultimately our country. We are collaborating on initiatives across leadership, education and training, technology and workforce.

People are at the very centre of everything we do as BHP, and in our partnership with Army. Core to this is providing opportunities for transitioning Army members and partners of ADF members to join our team at BHP.

Veteran Employment

At BHP we welcome people from all backgrounds including veterans. From maintenance to project management, HR to logistics, from operating our equipment in the field to monitoring our autonomous operations, there is a lifetime of careers to explore with BHP.

With a large veteran community already part of team, we recognise that veterans bring a wide range of technical and professional skills as well as strong capabilities in leadership, teamwork and problem-solving.
