Experience:

Jess Farrell, BHP’s President North America from July 1 2026, leads BHP’s North America business comprising BHP’s operations and non-operated assets including Jansen, Vicuña and Resolution, Legacy Assets, and global Innovation and Ventures portfolios. Jess is also currently Acting President South America (from July 1 2026). She is a member of the Company’s Executive Leadership Team reporting to the CEO.

Jess Farrell has worked in the mining industry for 20 years. She has held senior leadership roles in operations, 
maintenance, strategy and commercial, working across various commodity groups, including iron ore, copper and nickel , in Australia and internationally.

Prior to this, Jess led BHP’s global innovation portfolio as Vice President Innovation, Asset President Nickel West and General Manager Integrated Planning and Remote Operations for WA Iron Ore. Before joining BHP, Jess held a variety of roles in the resources industry.

Jess holds bachelor degrees in Business and Arts and has undertaken a number of post-graduate studies at the Harvard Business School, INSEAD, Duke University, London Business School and IMD Business School.
