We are deeply saddened to confirm that Luke O’Brien, a team member working with one of our contracting partners at BMA, was fatally injured in a vehicle incident at the Saraji mine yesterday afternoon.

Luke was a valued member of the Saraji team and our heartfelt thoughts and condolences go to Luke’s family, friends and community. Our focus is on Luke’s family and ensuring they are well supported at this incredibly difficult time.

Counselling services are available for all of our people and their families, and we have deployed additional support onsite at Saraji and in the nearby Dysart community.

We are undertaking a full investigation to understand what has happened and are working closely with the relevant authorities.
