BHP awarded top honour at Women in Resources Awards

BHP had a strong representation at the 2017 Women in Recourses National Awards (WIRNA), held in Tasmania.

Congratulations to Vanessa Torres, Vice President Op Infrastructure WAIO named Exceptional Woman in Australian Resources.

Vanessa was recognised for her commitment to improving the representation of women in the resources industry over the course of her 25-year career in the industry.

“I would like to dedicate this award to all the women who work at BHP, and in the broader resources industry,” Vanessa said.

“You are changing the face and the culture of our company and our industry.”

Natalie Bruce, Manager Camps & Aviation WAIO was also a finalist in the Exceptional Woman in Australian Resources category.

Congratulations Carolyn Dobson, Maintenance Technician BMA awarded Outstanding Tradeswoman in Australian Resources.

Coals IROC received a High commendation for the Outstanding Company Initiative category and Nikhat Nagin, Principal G&TS Engineering BMA received a High commendation for Exceptional Young Woman.
