The South Walker Creek coal mine is a part of BMC, an 80:20 joint venture between BHP and Mitsui and Co.

We have announced a Share Sale and Purchase Agreement to divest our 80 per cent interest in BHP Mitsui Coal (BMC) to Stanmore Resources.
1996 South Walker Creek commenced in 1996.
20 20 ancient megafauna fossils have been discovered at the mine.
770 kgIt takes around 770 kilograms of metallurgical coal to make one tonne of steel.

South Walker Creek is an open cut mine located 35 kilometres west of Nebo in Queensland's Bowen Basin.
