The Poitrel coal mine is a part of BMC, an 80:20 joint venture between BHP and Mitsui and Co.

We have announced a Share Sale and Purchase Agreement to divest our 80 per cent interest in BHP Mitsui Coal (BMC) to Stanmore Resources.

4.13Mt In FY2020, Poitrel achieved record production of 4.13Mt.
770 kgIt takes around 770 kilograms of metallurgical coal to make steel used in a mid-sized car.

Poitrel is an open-cut coal mine located 35 kilometres east of Moranbah in Queensland. The mine produces Pulverised Coal, Injection grade coal and minor amounts of thermal grade coal.
