When more than 80 per cent of a child’s learning takes place outside of the classroom, the community’s role in developing and educating a child is critically important. Teach For All, with funding from the BHP Foundation, has embarked on a global program to accelerate community-led approaches to learning. In November 2018, Teach For All’s launched The Global Learning Lab for Community Impact, which brought together community leaders, teachers and other key partners to share practices and lessons that have led to improved quality learning outcomes for young people. With a focus on the role of community participation and leadership, the Community Impact Lab will support a network of local leaders who are informed by global insights and working collaboratively to provide their children with the education, support and opportunity to shape a better future.
