This project aimed to simplify and ultimately enhance the health, safety and environment (HSE) elements of the Petroleum Management System (the HSE Control Framework). Existing HSE requirements and processes were evaluated for clarity, consistency and accessibility. Procedural controls were a particular focus of the assessment, in recognition of the essential role they play in limiting the risk of human error, in areas including working at height, lifting operations and energy isolation.
The project used an engagement-heavy approach with a focus on collaboration with a large cross-section of employees and contractors. The objective was to improve the quality of the deliverables and enhance organisational acceptance and adoption of the change.
The project delivered a simple and effective HSE Control Framework, including standards, procedures and templates that are consistent with Our Charter values and support strong HSE performance.
