An initiative supporting communities in Trinidad and Tobago to develop climate change adaptation and resilience programs is targeting those most vulnerable to climate change impacts.
The aim of the program was to help five local civil society organisations develop their institutional and technical capacity to collaborate with global, regional and national funding bodies. With BHP support and with no existing model to follow, the group designed, developed and successfully concluded a climate change pilot program at each of the five organisations.
The program has helped to build a transparent, competent and informed civil society sector in Trinidad and Tobago, which is now able to support communities currently vulnerable to an increasingly unpredictable climate in the region.
